Preventing Deaths and Injuries of Fire Fighters Working Above Fire-Damaged Floors
SUMMARY: Fire fighters are at risk of falling through fire-damaged floors. Fire burning underneath floors can significantly degrade the floor system with little indication to fire fighters working above. Floors can fail within minutes of fire exposure, and new construction technology such as engineered wood floor joists may fail sooner than traditional construction methods. NIOSH recommends that fire fighters use extreme caution when entering any structure that may have fire burning beneath the floor.

If you have not received a 2009 membership renewal form in the mail (sent to the address on file in your member record), please let us know.

Please return your membership renewal form along with your dues for 2009 and be sure to make corrections on the form if any of the information has changed.

If multiple members are renewing through a single department, please include each of the individual membership renewal forms with the check. A new membership card will be mailed to you once we receive your dues for 2009.
